Rumor Mill: Tennessee DC Justin Wilcox In Play For Texas DC Job?

Every year in college football among the most fascinating story lines to follow about bowl season is coaching staff turnover. A move that seems easy, like Florida hiring Texas defensive coordinator Will Muschamp his or her next head coach, causes a chain reaction of coaching adjustments that sends shock-waves through the entire sport. Texas, in turn, hires a proven defensive coordinator from one more school. That school may choose to try to poach a talented position coach from yet another staff, leaving a void on another staff and so on and so forth.

The premium job for assistant coaches around the country this season will be the aforementioned Texas defensive coordinator job and one name that continues to appear for the Texas job is Tennessee defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox. Several in Austin and some in Knoxville seem to assume that these claims have some legitimacy and that Wilcox is probably the favourite to be named the next Texas DC. Which beckons the question, if Wilcox does decide to leave Knoxville for Austin, where do the Volunteers range from here prospective option is to promote an individual already in house, probably the most logical of the options being Tennessee linebackers coach Lance Thompson or defensive backs coach/recruiting coordinator Terry Joseph.

Thompson has expertise as a coordinator from 2004-2006 at UCF beneath George O'Leary and would probably be the preferred if Derek Dooley decided to promote a current staff member, but many deemed his term as coordinator there largely unsuccessful. Thompson is an ace recruiter and was named Rivals.com recruiter of the year in 2008 when he was still being at Alabama, and is extremely popular in his two seasons with the Vols, but the obstacle here seems to be whether or not he is prepared for any lead job once more. Could Lance Thompson be considered a candidate if Justin Wilcox leaves? Joseph, however, does not have coordinating experience but that hasn't stopped him from proving itself to be among the better young coaches attending college football. The general feedback from his time here at Tennessee is that the children like him and he has an excellent rapport with many incoming recruits, but may be the 37 year old New Orleans native prepared for that responsibilities of an SEC coordinator?

Promoting someone within the football family members undoubtedly helps make the transition less difficult for the remainder of this season, in terms of keeping the Vols top 25 recruiting class intact and keeping the present team collected and focused. Nevertheless, that does not necessarily mean that it is the most effective option for this program in the long haul. If Wilcox leaves, Tennessee will likely be forced to look at candidates outside the program.

Everything becoming stated, if you are a Tennessee fan you should be hoping that Wilcox's pending proceed to Texas is indeed just a rumor. It has been a fragile time for Tennessee football in the last a number of years and stability going forward is going to be key in the rebuilding process. Having Wilcox on board, even if it is only for one more season or two, would make items a lot simpler on Rocky Top since the Vols surge ahead towards relevancy again.

Pete Sampras: They are able to Steal Your Things Although not The Recollections

Those were wonderful days for him. He was well-liked, normal guy who liked going out at a club called Avila coupled with a house alongside my neighborhood in Tampa Palms. He wasn't a flashy person. He was every bit a superstar, but by no means acted the component. So it would be a bit disturbing to determine that some particularly cruel thieves produced off with a lot of his trophies and memorabilia from the occupation that made him among the elite sportsmen of our time.

However you have to ask: "Hey Pete, what the heck were you doing wonderful these items stashed away in a public storage facility in West L.A. for goodness sakes?" In the name of Pancho Gonzales, why did you place them there? Is the residence in L.A. just also darn modest? You can find a "come on man" in the ESPN gang on this 1. "Losing these things is like having the background of my tennis life stolen absent," is how Pete explained it. If Pete have been in Tampa today, the people in the club would be really needling him about this one.

You place the history of the tennis existence in a public storage unit? What makes things even worse is the fact that he'd a guitar signed by Carlos Santa and a piano bench signed by Elton John in there using the other things and now those have died as well. Seriously Pete. You should have had your guitar on your wall and the piano bench in your research where the children could crawl all over it. Oh, the boys at Avila would NEVER allow you to stay that one down. Maybe, just maybe, some street-wise tennis lover knows what transpired with this caper and provide the cops a hot tip. This may no doubt become a totally new episode for.
