College Football Week 10: Boston College Favored on the Road Over Wake Forest

This Saturday, the Boston College Eagles will go on the road to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an ACC matchup of 1-4 teams. The Eagles appear in fresh off their first meeting win, beating Clemson 16-10 last week. The Demon Deacons last conference win was their first, as they haven’t won an individual game since beating Duke of their second game on the season. The Eagles won a thriller last season, beating the Demon Deacons 27-24 in overtime.

If you are thinking about betting on the overall game this weekend, the present college football odds possess the Eagles favored by three points over the Demon Deacons on the road. The Eagles had lost five in a row before taking down the Tigers last week. It had been a dominant defensive performance for Boston College. The Eagles held Clemson to just 86 yards on the ground, only one week after the Tigers ran for 236 yards against Georgia Tech. The defense also held quarterback Kyle Parker to just 176 yards through the air, while forcing two interceptions. If the Eagles are going to continue winning games, they're going to need similar showings from their defense.

Offensively the Eagles struggles continued. While using defense shutting the Tigers offense down, the Eagles managed just 16 points, all of which came in the first two quarters of play. Running back Montel Harris had a large day on the bottom for the Eagles, rushing for 142 yards, as well as caught a 36-yard touchdown that really opened up the overall game for the Eagles. It was a good thing Harris came to play, as quarterback Chase Rettig completed just 9 of 16 passes for 136 yards.
