Pienaar Will Go To Spurs for Kranjcar Plus a Million: Spurs and Everton Rejoice

Unsettled Bafana Bafana star Steven Pienaar's move from Everton to Tottenham moved one step ahead this week amid reviews that the 28-year-old from Westbury around Johannesburg could move in a January swap offer involving Croatian international Niko Kranjcar. Pienaar has turned down a new contract at Goodison Park, in which he was not presented parity with Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta in spite of currently being injury-free and voted the Toffees' followers Player of the Season earlier this year.

The South African's contract expires at the end of the season and that he will be able to move for free in June 2011. But Everton boss David Moyes accepts it would be wiser to sell within the January transfer window, and also the News of the World - England's biggest-selling newspaper - claims the club are considering an offer which may see Spurs offer the out-of-favour Kranjcar and ??§o1m in exchange for the 55-cap worldwide Pienaar. Moyes said: "It may well come to it in the January transfer window that we have to consider selling Pienaar to raise money, because he is out of contract in the summer.

"We know we need a striker but realistically, the type of cash we will increase using that route, which kind of participant will it acquire for us within the January market place? "The kind of money I'd raise, I don't think it will entice the type of participant we need, the kind of player we're searching for to supply the objectives. "The sort of money you will be charged, I do not feel selling a person will resolve that one problem, and it is almost certainly a real possibility that it'll function as the mortgage market we'll may need to look at to supply some sort of solution."

Kranjcar, 26, who has played just three Premier League games for Spurs this year, will be an automatic choose for Moyes, who attempted to obtain the 61-cap Croatian on the mortgage deal at the start of the growing season. Pienaar, careful not to antagonise the adoring Everton faithful, explained yesterday,I am even now centered on staying at Everton. The season isn't more than yet, many things can happen. I can not discuss the Tottenham speculation, I'm not sure what's going on.
