USC Basketball: Nikola Vucevic Opts to Forgo Senior Year for NBA Draft

The USC Trojans will need to groom a brand new energy forward for subsequent season. Nikola Vucevic, who averaged 17.1 points and 10.three rebounds in his junior season, announced on Friday that he's forgoing his season and will enter the NBA Draft.

Vucevic also announced he has retained agent Rade Filipovich of BDA Sports Management, that has recognized Vucevic's father for far more than 3 decades. Borislav Vucevic played professionally overseas for quite some time.

Vucevic made the decision that his finest likelihood would be to enter the draft now, knowing that the existing crop of draftees is probably the weakest in numerous years. Vucevic would also have the choice of playing overseas, should the NBA go for a lockout when the present CBA expires on June 30. "If there's a lockout," Vucevic told the LA Times, I'm from Europe so I have a probability to go and play overseas."

USC completed the growing season at 19-15 soon after losing in the initial round with the NCAA tournament to Virginia Commonwealth. Vucevic will be the second big man lost to USC, following the departure of senior forward Alex Stepheson. USC coach Kevin Neill hopes that transfers James Blasczyk, Dewayne Dedmon and Aaron Fuller can fill their shoes!
